Abstract
This report presents two cases of occupational health support incorporating preconception care (PCC)forming part of human capital management aimed at sustained corporate value enhancement. In Case 1, a “meal committee” involving multidisciplinary collaboration was established to improve the food environment, including Smart Meal certification and the introduction of a “chewing power-enhancing lunch” that was co-developed with the oral health research department. In Case 2, health education addressing biological sex differences (sex differences awareness training) was integrated into new employee orientation.Outcomes were assessed using dietary intake data and pre- and post-intervention questionnaires. The food environment intervention achieved Smart Meal three-star certification and attained an acceptance rate of approximately 80% despite featuring a health-focused menu, ultimately accounting for 20% of all meals provided. The chewing power-enhancing menu increased interest in oral health among 69% of employees.Following sex differences awareness training, knowledge comprehension improved to 95%, and active engagement in workplace environment improvement and a sense of psychological safety were observed both among male and female employees. This combined approach—integrating food environment intervention (hardware) with educational programming (software)—enhanced self-care among young workers and strengthened organizational health awareness. These initiatives extend beyond employee benefits and serve as an implementation model for “strategic health management” that simultaneously addresses future labor loss prevention and investment in the next generation.Future activities will aim to quantitatively verify the medium- to long-term health outcomes and economic impact of these interventions and to standardize sustainable occupational PCC support.
